Targeting and Optimization FAQ

Questions:
Where did this targeting come from?
Is there anywhere else that the algorithm can help my campaign?

I'm noticing campaign targeting that I didn't set. Where is it coming from?

Have you observed any changes in your campaign targeting that you didn't initiate? Rest assured, our platform will never apply targeting options that you didn't set. However, it does utilize The Trade Desk's KOA algorithm for optimizations.

For example, if you're targeting only 'above the fold' content, our platform will not add 'below the fold' as an additional target. But it may optimize to reduce focus on the 'above the fold' inventory if the KOA algorithm identifies it as underperforming.

This targeting will indicate that it is an optimization under the "Type" column within your tactic's targeting.

You'll find three options for optimizations within Admatx within the 'Goal' section of your tactic. Please refer to the screenshot below for further clarification. The default option is to always optimize.

Is there anywhere else that the algorithm can help my campaign?

The algorithm can be applied within a tactic's audience targeting by selecting "Boost Performance."

This option uses lookalike model data to create and then continually update an audience of users to exclude, removing users from your targeting who are the least likely to convert. This feature is highly recommended for conversion-based campaigns and for contextual strategies.
