How does my CTV campaign have a click?

There are a few reasons your CTV campaign may have a click

1. You're running OTT inventory all devices not just CTV. An example of this is running ads on Hulu that a user is watching on their laptop.

2. The click occured on a browser on the CTV device. Many CTV devices allow users to download browsers. If the user sees an ad on a browser on the CTV device a click is possible

3. While rare it is possible for users to use their CTV device remote to make a click

4. The click is an SSP audit. This is likely if there is only one solo click. Some creative approvals are done with devices that are not CTV, and usually at the beginning of a campaign flight.


How do I ensure delivery on Hulu and other premium CTV/OTT providers?

If you want to ensure delivery on Hulu you should create seperate tactic(s) for it. Hulu is a bit more costly than some CTV inventory so having it in a separate tactic will ensure your campaign doesn't pass on it due to higher bids. Within your Hulu tactic(s) you will select only Hulu publisher placements.

  • Tactic > Targeting and Optimization > Publisher Placements.

  • Remove the "Admatx - CTV/OTT" placement group and instead under private contracts, search Hulu and select the desired Hulu specific placements. 

  • Please note some publishers (Hulu for example) have different requirements in creative specs. Hulu's can be found here 

How do I ensure delivery on specific app(s) such as HGTV?

You can target apps via a site list by adding the apps and sites to a site list. See how to create a site/app list for targeting.

Example: You can add 75619 and b017jevtp4 sites for the app HGTV GO and hgtv.com and www.hgtv.com.

How do I ensure delivery on specific CTV devices?

Targeting for device make and model is on the roadmap and should be released Q2 '23.

In the meantime you can access publisher placements for inventory found on just these devices:

Within your desired tactic(s) you will select only publisher placements for those devices. 

  • Tactic > Targeting and Optimization > Publisher Placements.

  • Remove the "Admatx - CTV/OTT" placement group and instead under private contracts, search the devices (such as Roku and/or Amazon) and select the desired placements.
